Rare basil with a spicy scent of clove, lemon, and cinnamon. Grown outside holy sanctuaries in India. Adaptogenic, immune enhancing, antifungal and antibacterial. Sow in spring. Does well in pots. If you live in frost-free zones, this will make a perennial bush to 4 feet. If you live in the temperate north, grow as an annual or bring indoors for the winter. Plant prefers full sun, fertile soil, and regular watering. Can take up to three weeks to germinate. Keep seedling trays/pots at 70 to 80 degrees and moist. Do not over water. These are hard to germinate. We recommend that only an experience gardener try to grow these. *****************SPECIAL BULLETIN 7-9-2014*********** I have had one person contact us and tell us these are not holy basil. I have read the reviews and some say they are others say they did not germinate. I have contacted my supplier and they stand by their product. As far as the low germination rate goes--we do state at best it is 50%. This germination test was done by experts under idea conditions. Obviously some will do better others not as well. The main mistake most people make is planting the seeds too deep. You just want to barley cover them with dirt and keep them moist but not wet.
