This is not Synthetic yarn that is used for crocheting and knitting. This 3 leg macrame plant hanger is made from natural jute cord. Jute (Corchorus olitorius and Corchorus capsularis) is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber than can be spun into coarse, strong threads. Most hangers today are being made from Polyolefin cord. If you want strength then you will want to use a hanger made with jute cord that is 5 or 6 ply. This 3 leg hanger is a simple 42 inch pattern that I learned in the 70's. This is a classic design with a vintage look that works very well with any room or hanging baskets. I added 2 gathering knots for strength. The bottom gathering knot can be carefully moved up or down to adjust for planter sizes. Wooden beads are used to accent the hanger and also add functional ability. The brown beads can be moved up or down to accommodate for the size of the plant. Most hangers that you will find these days will not have beads. The beads give the hanger a vintage look that sets off the display. Crow's Nest Macrame hangers are made by my family in the United States.
