American Boxwood Liners - Lot of 10 plants

American boxwood, Buxus sempervirens, is a wide-spreading shrub or small tree with very dense evergreen foliage. The leaves are oblong-lanceolate to oval in shape, 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches long and are broadest at or below the middle. Leaves are usually shiny, dark green on the upper surface and pale green on the lower surface. Flowers, borne in early spring, are pale green and hardly noticeable. They commonly grow 5 to 10 ft tall, though old plants may attain a height of 20 ft. in tree form if left unpruned. This species and most of its cultivars are tolerant of cold weather. Liners are plants large enough to line out in the field (a nursery term). Liners are not as bushy (wide) as plants a year or two older. They are however a very economical choice if you are willing to grow them an extra year.

• PACKAGING: Most plants sold by DAS Farms are in containers except liners. Liners are shipped bare-root in moist sphagnum moss and wrapped in plastic. Container plants are grown and shipped in soil-less media. Moist sphagnum moss is placed around the top of the pots to slowly release water into the roots during transit, then the pot is wrapped in plastic to prevent leakage. Each order is carefully packaged in a double-box fashion to allow for no movement and therefore no damage to the plants.

California: All plants going to California must be shipped bare root due to CA state regulations.
