Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) designates the spectral range (wave band) of solar radiation from 400 to 700 nanometers that photosynthetic organisms are able to use in the process of photosynthesis. Rather than give off a wide spectrum of unusable light like with traditional High Intensity Discharge (HID) systems, iPower LED grow lights are formulated with PAR wavelengths specific to plant growth, giving your plants exactly what they need. Although iPower LED grow light panels will have a much lower lumen rating than a comparable-wattage HPS system, the PAR rating will be much higher.
iPower LED grow lights are self-contained systems. Heat is no longer radiated, but is instead drawn into the integrated heat sink and cooled by its high efficiency fan.
