GLO FUEL FAQ

1. What is GLO High Performance Lamp Oil?

GLO High Performance Lamp Oil is a high performance and odorless burning fuel for your oil lamps. If you are interested in the brightest light and best performance your oil lamp can produce, this is the fuel to use.

2. Is GLO High Performance Lamp Oil really odorless?

The short answer: High Performance Lamp Oil *burns odor-free in most flat wicked oil lamps and lanterns.

The longer answer: High Performance Lamp Oil is not Kerosene. Kerosene is a refined product and produces a distinctive odor when burned. High Performance Lamp Oil is a distilled product and burns odor-free in most flat wicked lamps. Larger wicked lamps (over 1" wicks) and some mantle lamps may produce an odor due to the large amount of fuel that can be burned. Compared to kerosene, this fuel is wonderful. The lamp oil itself has a mild odor.

3. Should I buy High Performance Lamp Oil or Perfect Paraffin Lamp Oil?

Oil Lanterns / Lamps were designed to burn Kerosene. Therefore, you want a product with similar viscosity and a flash point close to Kerosene. This oil is similar to Kerosene in viscosity and flash point. (149 degrees F.) Paraffin oil's higher viscosity and higher flash point can cause poor performance in your lamp or lantern. (Erratic flame and about 1/2 the brightness as the High Performance Lamp Oil.)

4. I am looking for a paraffin oil based fuel, do you have that?
